Soumik Datta is a virtuoso sarod player (a 19-stringed lute-type instrument prominent in Hindustani music) known for redefining the boundaries of Indian music. He plays in a vast range of styles – jazz, Indo-blues, drum’n’bass, and many more – with storytelling and contemporary soundscapes, but always returns to his classical roots, performing traditional Hindustani music around the world to increasing acclaim.
